Amanda Laren is an associate in our Tax Group in Toronto. She maintains a general income tax practice, with a focus on corporate income tax planning, including corporate finance, reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. She also advises with respect to employee compensation matters.
Amanda enjoys speaking on tax matters, and recently co-delivered a guest lecture for an MBA course at the Schulich School of Business at York University. She regularly contributes tax case commentary to CCH’s Tax Topics.
Amanda was called to the Ontario bar in 2014. She holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School (2013), an M.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario (2010), and a B.Sc. (Hon.) in Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario (2009). She is currently completing CPA Canada’s In Depth Tax Course.
Amanda is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. She currently sits on the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Young Practitioner’s Steering Committee and McCarthy Tétrault’s Associates’ Committee.
