Andrea Gray is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group. She practices in both Calgary and Vancouver and her cross-jurisdictional practice enables her to advise clients on both Alberta and British Columbia matters and legal principles. Andrea practices corporate commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on general contractual, construction, energy and resource, insurance, shareholder and product liability related disputes.
As junior counsel, Andrea has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and has assisted clients with a variety of complex matters in contract, tort, and equity as well as with regulatory matters. In particular, she regularly assists and advises clients with respect to issues on the interpretation of standard and unique insurance policies as well as coverage disputes for property, economic, and business interruption losses; negligence; fraud; breaches of fiduciary duties; duties of officers and directors; plant and equipment design, construction, operation, and failure; and complex contractual interpretation. Andrea also has experience assisting with civil and statutory injunctions, municipal bylaws, and complex interlocutory proceedings.
Andrea received her BA in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology (with honours) from Bishop’s University in 2009 and her JD from the University of Calgary in 2013. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2014 and the British Columbia bar in 2015. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, the Vancouver Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Youth Justice Society.
