Tina Benson is an associate in our London, England office. She maintains a general business law and dispute resolution practice.
Tina's business law practice focusses on debt and equity capital markets transactions, often with an international component. She has been involved with the establishment of covered bond programmes for Canadian financial institutions and regularly advises on the English law aspects of the renewals of London listed legislative global covered bond and euro medium term note programmes and related international offerings.
Tina's business law experience also includes giving advice from an Ontario and English law perspective in relation to corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate governance matters, acting for oil and gas and mining companies in the context of private placements in the United Kingdom, as well as advising on infrastructure projects and asset purchases in Africa. She also recently completed a successful secondment to one of the world’s largest solar power companies where she provided project finance and general corporate advice.
Tina's dispute resolution practice focusses on disputes governed by English law in the commercial, corporate and natural resources sectors and in the specific area of contractual disputes. She has experience advising domestic and international corporate entities, both in litigation in the High Courts of Justice in London and in international arbitration, including at the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Tina graduated from the joint Canadian and American law degree programme between the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. In 2009, she received both an LLB from the University of Windsor and a JD (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Detroit Mercy. She was called to the bars of Ontario and New York in 2010 and was admitted to the roll of solicitors for the senior courts in England and Wales in 2017.
