Dean Masse is a partner in our Business Law Group in Toronto. His practice focuses on securitization, structured finance and securities transactions, including single-seller, multi-seller and cross border securitization transactions and asset-backed programs.

Mr. Masse has significant experience acting for issuers, sellers, underwriters, trustees, liquidity providers and credit enhancers in various public and private securitization and structured finance transactions involving a variety of asset classes, including credit card receivables, residential and commercial mortgages, home equity lines of credit, retail instalment contracts and trade receivables.

He also has extensive experience acting for issuers and underwriters in connection with prospectus offerings, private placements, medium term notes programs, commercial paper programs, covered bonds programs and continuous disclosure matters. Mr. Masse has spoken at a number of conferences on various securitization, structured finance and covered bonds topics.

Mr. Masse is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the area of asset securitization in both the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, and the LEXPERT/The American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. He also appears in Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Structured Finance and Securitization Lawyers.

Mr. Masse received his B.Comm. in 1993, his MBA in 1994, and his LLB in 1997, each from the University of Windsor. He also received his JD in 1997 from the University of Detroit Mercy. Mr. Masse was called to the Ontario bar in 1999.
