Shanon O.N. Grauer

Shanon Grauer is counsel in our Business Law Group in Toronto. She is past Chair of the firm’s Health Law Group, past Co-Chair of the firm’s Franchise & Distribution Group and a member of the Life Sciences Group.
Shanon's corporate practice involves extensive work with private corporations and large affiliated groups of companies including the not-for-profit/charitable sector. Her specialties include mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, contract drafting, franchising, health regulatory, and Investment Canada (with a particular emphasis on cultural businesses). Shanon advises numerous not-for-profit and charitable organizations including those operating in the healthcare sector. Shanon has also advised domestic and international franchisors and suppliers on all aspects of Canadian franchising and distribution law across a variety of industries, including automotive, telecommunications, and retail/consumer.

- several franchisors looking to expand into Canada;
- a foundation to a major museum;
- a foundation to a teaching hospital in Toronto;
- several charitable corporations;
- a Toronto based hospital;
- an international pharmaceutical company;
- an international healthcare products company; and
- Infrastructure Ontario respecting its hospital projects.
Shanon's health law practice focuses on health regulatory matters and involves advising hospitals, suppliers to the health care sector, community care access centres, foundations, a laboratory, hair replacement centres and other stakeholders in the health services sector. She teaches a course on Health Law and Ethics at the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation allied with the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Medicine.

Shanon received her BA (Hons.) from the University of British Columbia and her LLB from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1978, and since then, has practised continuously with our firm.
