Curtis Marble is an associate in our Litigation Group in Calgary. He practises in a number of litigation areas, in particular international arbitration and commercial litigation. Mr. Marble frequently works with our London office on significant international arbitration matters under (among others) the London Court of International Arbitration and International Chamber of Commerce arbitration rules. Mr. Marble’s practice has included competition, oil and gas and aviation claims. Mr. Marble has also acted in energy and resource conflicts including subsurface trespass disputes and regulatory appeals.
Mr. Marble obtained his BA in political science from the University of British Columbia in 2003, his MA in international affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in 2003, and his JD from the University of Calgary in 2007, winning several academic awards. Mr. Marble clerked for the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and was called to the Alberta bar in 2008.
Mr. Marble has been involved in providing pro-bono legal services, including through Volunteer Lawyer Services and the Pro-Bono Students Canada duty counsel project. He has also worked closely with the Pro-Bono Students Canada mock trial program for elementary school children.
Mr. Marble holds private pilot and glider pilot licences.
